De la Plaza Real de Carlos V, a la Plaza de Nariño: 475 años de historia

El presente texto es el resultado del estudio de la Plaza de Nariño, en la ciudad de San Juan de Pasto, a partir de las valoraciones histórica, simbólica y estética de esa arquitectura con un alto valor patrimonial, que por diferentes circunstancias ha sufrido transformaciones que han vulnerado su esencia. El artículo pretende explicar y analizar el contexto y momento histórico desde su fundación hasta su última transformación en 1992. El proceso investigativo se realizó a través del método histórico hermenéutico, el cual se nutrió de elementos bibliográficos y vivenciales a través de entrevistas a personas allegadas a esta obra.AbstractThis research makes a study from the historical, symbolic and aesthetic elements of architecture within a high patrimonial value for which it has been for many reasons transformed that have defaced its essence as in the case of the Plaza de Nariño in the city of San Juan of Pasto, trying to explain and analyze the context and historical moment from the very fact of its creation until its final transformation in 1992. The research process was conducted through the historical hermeneutic method, which drew on experiential bibliography and through interviews whit people close to this place.</p

Architecture for the exhibition of cinema at the center of Bogotá

Durante el siglo XX, el cine se consolidó como una manifestación cultural significativa que transformó la vida cotidiana de los habitantes capitalinos y contribuyó con el desarrollo de su infraestructura a la configuración de una nueva ciudad. El centro de Bogotá albergó una muestra representativa de teatros, reflejo de la historia del sector como polo cultural y de divertimento para la ciudad. En este artículo se plantean reflexiones acerca de la arquitectura desarrollada para esta actividad a partir del análisis de algunos edificios representativos que dan cuenta del proceso de consolidación, auge, crisis y nuevo renacer del sistema de exhibición de cine. Se concluye finalmente que la cantidad, variedad y riqueza estética de teatros proyectados y construidos merecen ser conservados como memoria de los procesos urbanos y sociales que ha vivido nuestra ciudadDuring the XX century, cinema was consolidated as a significant cultural manifestation that transformed the daily life of the inhabitants of the capital and it contributed with the development from its infrastructure to the configuration of a new city. The study of the urban transformations opens a space to analyze the case of the Parkway from the barrio La Soledad; an area that since its conception reflects a unique process in the development of the city, and still broadly keeps its physical structure, in both urban and architectural aspects, in spite of being immerse in the evolution of a community that changes constantly according to the facts of every moment. Unlike other sectors dating from the same era, the Parkway has kept current but important physical transformations. It still saves its essence as urban space. Documenting the urban image of the historical center of Santiago de Cuba

Este trabajo nace como un proyecto de investigación entre la Universidad de Florencia, Departamento de Arquitectura, Diseño, Historia y Proyecto; la Facultad de Construcciones de la Universidad de Oriente y la Oficina del Conservador de la Ciudad de Santiago de Cuba, para poner a prueba los sistemas de documentación pertinentes a la preparación del Plan Maestro. El objetivo de este estudio ha sido identificar los sistemas de análisis y de levantamiento para el desarrollo de herramientas interactivas y la gestión del patrimonio construido. A través de este proyecto los investigadores y estudiantes de la Facultad de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Florencia han podido trabajar en Santiago de Cuba durante tres meses, fijando el análisis en las tres principales plazas del casco histórico: Parque Céspedes, la Plaza Dolores y la Plaza de MarteThis work stems from a collaboration agreement between the University of Florence (Department of Architecture, Design, History and Project), the Faculty of Building Construction of the Universidad de Oriente, and the Oficina del Conservador de la Ciudad de Santiago de Cuba in order to test documentation systems for the City’s Master Plan. Politicization of street vending in Bogotá

Atendiendo algunas de las sentencias de la Corte Constitucional sobre los vendedores informales, la administración distrital ha venido ajustando las acciones para la racionalización de las ventas callejeras, intervenciones que promovieron una mayor ocupación formal e informal del espacio público, incidiendo en la percepción ciudadana de un incremento del fenómeno de las ventas callejeras en Bogotá, con los fenómenos asociados de inseguridad y deterioro que este incremento conlleva. A partir de los resultados del seguimiento a vendedores informales en el espacio público adelantados en diferentes momentos por la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá, y los presentados en los informes institucionales del IPES, se han podido establecer algunos de los aspectos de la dinámica de crecimiento y ocupación de las ventas callejeras, lo que permite plantear consideraciones sobre el impacto de la política de aprovechamiento económico, y de la inversión en la producción, utilización y explotación el espacio público en desarrollo del Plan Maestro de Espacio PúblicoAddressing some of the rulings of the Constitutional Court on street vendors, the district administration has been tightening actions for rationalization of the street markets, interventions that promoted greater formal and informal occupation of public space, influencing public perceptions of a growing phenomenon of street vendors in Bogota, with the associated phenomena of insecurity and decay that this increase leads. From the monitoring results from informal vendors in the public space developed at different times by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, and presented in institutional reports IPES this institute has been able to establish some of the aspects of the dynamics of growth and occupation of street vending, which allows to raise considerations about the impact of the policy of economic exploitation, and investment in the production, use and exploitation in developing public space of the Public Space Master Plan
